Orr Fisher was a prolific artist active from the 1920s thru the 1960s. Most notably, he was a muralist for the Works Progress Administration. or WPA. Fisher was a part of the Regionalist Art movement which also included such artists as Grant Wood, Holland Foster and Thomas Hart Benton. Fisher lived most of his life in rural Iowa and painted in the Plein Aire style.
